When I talk to people about martial arts and tell them that I study Tai Chi I often get the question, "What is Tai Chi?". Well here it is: Tai Chi is a system of moving meditation, it is a very effective method of relaxation, and low impact strength training, and can even help you gain some flexibility.The slow movement meditation provides a calming sensation for the mind and body, this allows for blood and oxygen to flow more freely through the body.
With the reduction of stress comes the reduction of the blood pressure, better sleep at night, and for me less snapping out of frustration. Anyone of any age can preform Tai Chi, it is a fully adaptive art making it's possibilities endless.
This is usually the next question I receive, "Can I fight with it?" Yes you can,the martial applications of Tai Chi movements are very simple making it a wonderful system of self defense.
